How It Works

How MentorsMD Works

MentorsMD connects you with med students, residents, gap-year students and more who've been through admissions recently. Every mentor is vetted by our senior team, prices are set by the hour, and every hour you use is logged where you can see it.

The Process

Four Simple Steps

  1. 01

    Find a Mentor

Browse vetted mentors by what you need help with: personal statement, secondaries, interviews, MCAT and more.

  2. 02

Message or Book a Free Intro Call

Ask questions or book a free 15-minute intro call. Buying unlocks once the mentor replies or your intro call happens.

  3. 03

    Book and Pay Securely

You pay MentorsMD for hours at your mentor's rate, not the mentor directly. Every call and block of written work is logged, and if something goes wrong our team settles it (refunds are given as MentorsMD credit).

  4. 04

Get Your Feedback or Have Your Call

Book 30- or 60-minute calls on your mentor's calendar and join a private MentorsMD video room, or send work for written feedback. Every hour is logged on your package page.

How We Vet Mentors

Every Mentor, Interviewed by Our Senior Team

Anyone can call themselves an admissions coach. On MentorsMD, nobody mentors until they've interviewed with each member of our senior team, so every mentor has real experience and outstanding results.

01

Interviewed

A rigorous interview with each of our senior team members.

02

Real Experience

Real, hands-on experience with every service they offer.

03

Outstanding Results

Only mentors with outstanding results of their own are accepted.

04

Invite-Only

Nobody can sign up to mentor. Every mentor joins by invitation from our team.

Payment & Safety

Your Payment and Safety, Protected

We built MentorsMD so students never have to take a mentor's word for it.

Secure Payments Through MentorsMD

You pay MentorsMD, not the mentor. Your hours are logged as they're used, and when the work is marked complete you have 48 hours to approve it, ask for one last call or revision, or open a dispute.

One Last Call or Revision, and Disputes

When your mentor marks the work complete, you can ask for one last call or one last revision. If something goes wrong, open a dispute and a MentorsMD admin decides; refunds are given as MentorsMD credit you can use with any mentor.

Private Video Calls

Calls happen in a private MentorsMD video room that you join from your order, so there's no need to share your phone number or personal accounts.

Parental Consent Under 18

Students aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian's consent before they can message or book. Parents get a receipt for every order.

Finishing Early

Packages are priced on an estimate of the hours. If you and your mentor finish early, the unused hours aren't refunded: mentors aren't penalised for working efficiently.
